For the trails
Our mission is to create and foster a community of stewards to rediscover, maintain, and create new epic trails in Southern Oregon.
Get out and explore
Southern Oregon Trail Alliance is committed to restoring and enhancing trails for all adventurers, whether you mountain bike, dirtbike, hike, run, backpack, horseback, or one-wheel on trails. We bring together trail stewards and land managers to keep world-class, well-maintained, multi-use trails in Southern Oregon alive and allow people who love the outdoors to enjoy our area.

Our labors of love
We work on trails all over Southern Oregon—from Taylor Creek to Mountain Of The Rogue, from the Applegate Valley to the Smith River, and everywhere in between. Here are some of our current focus areas and favorite spots. Join us to explore and work on local trails!

Mule Mountain: 2025
In 2025, we committed to rebuilding this historical trail in the Applegate Valley which features incredible views of the Red Buttes and 2500′ of elevation change over 4 miles.

Cathedral Hills and MOuntain of the rogue
We work with local volunteers and trail users to keep our region’s favorite multi-use trails open by removing downed logs, clearing brush and weeds, and improving drainage.

Taylor Creek/Briggs Valley
West of Grants Pass, this lush and dense almost-coastal forest-meets-burn-scar requires hundreds of hours of work per year to keep open after fire damage. But it’s so, so worth it.
Anyone can be a trail steward
Join us as we work to:
- Restore, improve, and maintain multi-use trails
- Build a community of people passionate about trails
- Develop the cycling community in the Rogue Valley
- Build long-term positive relationships with all trail users and land managers
- Collaborate with other groups to clean up trash, improve trails, and create new ones
